4 steps for successful student self-care

There's no denying that studying can be stressful at times, especially when you have other priorities. Here are some tips from Student Support Manager, Sian, to help you stay on top of your self-care.

Relax

Take some time away from the screen and do some things you enjoy, take a walk somewhere you love, spend time on your hobbies or catch up on the series you enjoy watching and have put off for a while. Catch up on sleep, eat good food, get fresh air.

Reconnect

Spend time with family and/or friends, have conversations that are not connected to work or write a letter to someone you haven’t seen for ages. Relationships need maintenance sometimes!

Revise

Which skills do you wish you’d spent time on but then you were too far into the module to take the time?

Spend some time in the study skills area, practise accessing the library, connect with Student Support if you have any worries or concerns.

Repurpose

Revisit your motivation for taking this programme - what is your end goal? Visualise yourself in your graduation cap and gown receiving your certificate and make a list of positive statements that you can look at in the tough times.
