In today’s modern world, businesses are now increasingly more reliant on computing and technology in the workplace, resulting in a huge skills gap and an increased demand for people with knowledge, skills and understanding of digital and technology solutions.
Through this degree apprenticeship, you will study an undergraduate degree in BSc (Hons) Digital and Technology Solutions, flexibly while you work. This way, you will be able to apply your learning to your role straight away.
The Digital and Technology Solutions degree apprenticeship is available with four different specialist pathways, including Consultancy, Software Engineering, Business Analysis and Data Analysis. The different routes will enable you to refine and focus your studies in an area that interests you, and become a go-to expert for all things computing within the business.
To enrol onto this programme as a Degree Apprentice, you must be in employment and be able to provide written evidence confirming support from your employer. You must also be able to provide evidence of your eligibility for funding, which your employer may be able to provide.

If you don’t have English and/or Maths qualifications (level 2): You will need to commit to achieving these qualifications by the end of your apprenticeship. This will be facilitated at no additional cost to you.
Candidates who demonstrate an ability to study the programme as evidenced through previous vocational experience will be required to submit a personal statement (of between 350-500 words) that addresses their motivation for undertaking the programme; including their reference contacts, relevant prior experience and qualifications.
If you feel that you can demonstrate and provide evidence of related work experience, you may be able to gain module exemptions.
Individual employers may set specific selection criteria for their Apprenticeships.
The Digital & Technology Solutions Degree Apprenticeship is perfect for those who wish to develop their practical and intellectual skills in the deployment of technology in the workplace.
There are four different specialist pathways to choose from, including Consultancy, Software Engineer, Business Analysis and Data Analysis. Whichever path you choose, you will gain valuable computing and business skills, including the fundamentals of databases, programming, security, systems analysis and design.
As a degree apprentice, your work-based learning becomes an integral part of your qualification. As you are working, you will build up a portfolio of evidence including completed assessments, evaluations from the workplace, presentations, minutes of meetings, business proposals and performance reviews. Our student support coordinators and your assessor will be able to help you with this.
You’ll be assessed through a variety of methods including:
Assessments are designed to enable you to use evidence that arises in your daily work and you will have the opportunity to create working solutions to specific workplace issues.
Towards the end of the programme, you will complete a work-based project that brings together elements of your learning that demonstrate how your knowledge and understanding of management have been applied in the organisation. The final assessment will be a panel interview, where you will present your project, portfolio of evidence and will include a Q&A session.

As a degree apprentice, you will be learning and gaining an undergraduate qualification whilst working full-time – the smart way to learn, work and earn at the same time.
From the moment you begin, the knowledge and skills that you develop through your studies can be applied to your role straight away. Upon successful completion, you’ll gain an undergraduate degree in BSc (Hons) Digital and Technology Solutions and be equipped with valuable skills and confidence to take on a senior role within the digital and technology sector.
You will also have sought-after skills and knowledge relating to a specific subject area you are interested in, plus the valuable experience of applying what you have learned to your role and workplace.
The degree element to this apprenticeship will be studied online via distance learning, where you will have access to Arden’s established ‘virtual classroom’, ilearn. You will have access to your study materials 24/7 and can study wherever you have an internet connection. This will be supported by scheduled face-to-face sessions with a personal tutor or training manager that will work with you on a regular basis. Additional block release development days will be provided which will contribute toward the 20% period of off-the-job training required for an apprenticeship.
The central focus of the degree apprenticeship programme is the engagement you have with your employer. Your assigned tutor will support you through the programme and keep up-to-date with your progress through regular scheduled meetings.
