Regrettably our graduation venue has cancelled all events taking place between November 2020 – January 2021 due to uncertainty around the ongoing pandemic. We are currently reviewing other options including the potential for online ceremonies. Further updates and information will be provided here in due course.

On the Day

We’ve put together a timeline of what you can expect on graduation day, to help you plan ahead and make the most of it. The expected duration of the graduation ceremony is approximately 90 minutes.

Once the ceremony is over, you’re invited to attend a celebratory drinks reception, which past graduates have enjoyed using as an opportunity to socialise with fellow graduates, Arden University academics and staff.

Time: The time of your graduation ceremony will be confirmed three weeks before your ceremony, via email. However, you need to keep the whole day free.

Graduation Day Itinerary

1. Arrival time
We recommend that you arrive two hours before your ceremony is set to begin.

2. e-tickets
Present your e-tickets to gain access to Middle Temple.

3. Check in at our registration desk
You will need to show photographic ID on arrival at the venue, or preferably your student ID card. Once inside, you will then be required to register. The registration desk will be clearly signposted on the day.

4. Pick up your pre-ordered academic dress
You'll be able to collect your pre-ordered gown, hood and mortar board from Middle Temple on the day of your ceremony. If you have opted to purchase your own gown, you will need to bring this with you on the day.

5. Official photography (if desired)
Your official photographs will be taken in the same location as your gown collection. Official photography isn’t compulsory – it’s up to you whether you purchase a photography package or not.

6. Be seated at least 30 minutes before the ceremony starts
As a graduate, you will have an allocated seat on the day. Guest seating is on a first come, first served basis.

7. Enjoy the ceremony!
Celebrate your hard work, and hear from Arden’s Vice-Chancellor, honorary graduates and more!

8. Attend the post-ceremony reception to continue the celebration
Our post-ceremony drinks reception will be held in The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple.

9. Return your gown after the ceremony
Once you've had fun graduating, being photographed and celebrating, remember to drop your gown off at the returns desk; this will be clearly signposted on the day.
