In this post you will be responsible for building and delivering the Schools and College Outreach strategy for Arden University. Working with group functional Heads and the student recruitment team you will ensure the Arden brand presence is built within schools and colleges across the UK. Through this the aim is to generate student interest to Arden University.

You will take ownership for driving brand awareness through this channel, seeking opportunities with schools and colleges to promote our services and promote the Arden offering. You will also work with marketing to agree and deliver the UCAS strategy from promotion to increase UCAS applications to maximising the engagement and conversion of these applications. You will also be responsible for HE events and open days, working closely with marketing to ensure we are promoting the brand through HE and local events which result in enquiries, to the promotion of open days to nurture and convert leads to Arden.

Reporting to the Business Development Director, you will be the driving force for delivery of the Schools and Outreach strategy. Working closely with your central HQ colleagues and recruitment teams, it will be your responsibility to make sure we build our presence in the market and attract suitable students to Arden University.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for someone with experience in the creation, management and implementation of campaign activities and events, to support the growth of the Arden Brand in the Higher Education sector.

You will have some experience, or a proven interest in, brand and campaign management and an upbeat and positive attitude towards getting things done and learning new skills. You will help with the day-to-day running of marketing campaigns, events management, brand guardianship, print and merchandise production and in sourcing great PR stories.

The right candidate will work with our agencies and 3rd parties to deliver campaign materials, a professional event presence and content-rich PR and social outputs which will deliver awareness, consideration and applications leading to enrolment. You will also work with colleagues across the university in attending Higher Education recruitment events.

Personal Profile

As a graduate in marketing, or with professional marketing qualifications (e.g. CIM) you will be self-motivated with the ambition to deliver outstanding marketing activities. Psychology Experiment Officer

Job title: Psychology Experimental Officer (grade 4)

Job Purpose

  • This is an opportunity to join a growing team of Psychology academics at Arden.
  • Main functions are:
  • Supporting psychology students in planning and carrying out practical work relevant to their degree studies;
  • Working with academics to make the best use of resources and to contribute to the development and maintenance of resources in the discipline. This will involve providing advice and guidance to staff and students and to provide training for academic staff on psychology-specific resources;
  • Overseeing access to resources, for example by administering software licences to students and their access to such resources.

Main activities and responsibilities:

  • Support (assist and advise) students at all levels (access, undergraduate, postgraduate and research) in the preparation and use of specialist software and support experiments used for teaching and research activity.
  • Provide support through direct interaction with students, via demonstrations, tutorials and through the provision of training materials (such as the production of ‘how-to’ guides).

Person Specification

Essential:

  • A good degree in psychology and eligible for the GBC

The role

Arden’s rapid growth has created an opportunity to expand our training and compliance team. Based in London, you will plan, develop, document and deliver all aspects of training in relation to UK Blended Learning recruitment as directed, within available resources and to agreed budgets and timescales.

Reporting to the Training and Compliance Manager, you will ensure that the business has sufficient qualified Course Advisors to meet recruitment objectives and achieve quality standards, whilst always adhering to best practice. You will coordinate all activities concerned with training requirements, ensuring a collaborative, communicative and unified approach.

Additionally, you will provide specific training, including Arden Course Advisor Inductions, to new starters and undertake duties to ensure ongoing training is planned and delivered. This will involve regular monitoring of UK course advisors and providing detailed feedback and proposals for improvement to business stake holders.

Please note, some travel within the UK will be required for this role.

Personal Profile

You will be able to work both independently and within a team environment, you must be self-disciplined, organised and happy to take a lead. You will have exceptional communication skills and ultimately be an outstanding face-to-face communicator. You will need to be a people person, having excellent social and interpersonal skills. Empathy and strong listening skills are also important.

You must be comfortable in delivering training on a one-to-one or group basis. Experience in training and its delivery would be beneficial. Your experience has given you enthusiasm and passion for delivering excellent customer service.

You will have the ability to plan and prioritise tasks effectively and work to deadlines. Accuracy and good attention to detail is also crucial.

Workplace Coach/Internal Quality Assurance - West Midlands & South East

Post Title: Workplace Coach/Internal Quality Assurance (part-time, self-employed)

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The purpose of this role is to support degree apprenticeship candidates to generate evidence and complete their apprenticeship portfolio alongside their degree programme. Workplace Coaches will be allocated candidates for the duration of their programme and will take responsibility for their ongoing progress. Workplace Coaches are expected to work closely with the academic staff delivering modules on the degree programme associated with the apprenticeship, helping candidates to identify opportunities to draw evidence from their daily work that can be used as context for their module assessments. The relationship that Workplace Coaches have with their candidates is crucial so strong interpersonal skills will be essential.

  • To guide, support and coach candidates, following their enrolment, to plan their studies and set up their portfolio using the online system.
  • To undertake workplace visits on a regular basis to discuss progress, set action plans, and assess workplace evidence.
  • Where apprenticeships are delivered in partnership, support other workplace coaches to enable the generation of evidence.
  • To work closely with module leaders on the Degree Programmes Solutions programmes to help candidates plan their assessments to generate the required evidence.
  • To work closely with Student Support as part of proactive student engagement and monitoring.
  • To support candidates remotely via the online system, answering queries and signposting additional support as required.
  • To sign off evidence from academic assessments once it has been uploaded to the e-portfolio.
  • To assess and sign off additional evidence generated in the workplace to supplement the academic programme.
  • To monitor candidate progress against agreed goals, intervening where necessary to enable success.
  • Help to maintain the relationship between the employers and the University whilst supporting candidates.
  • Undertake monthly meetings with other assessors for calibration/best practice.
  • Perform Internal quality assurance activities in line with institutional quality assurance practice.

Essential Criteria

  • A Master’s level, or equivalent, qualification in a relevant area, Computing or Business
  • Experience of teaching. learning and assessment in the UK Higher Education sector
  • Flexibility to accommodate meetings in the workplace with candidates
  • Willingness to attend training sessions, either in person or online
  • Proven ability to work to agreed deadlines
  • Hold a UK driver’s licence and provide evidence of business use insurance

Desirable Criteria

  • Industrial experience in a relevant area
  • Experience of apprenticeship assessment
  • Experience of working in an online education environment
  • Relevant assessor qualification
  • Experience of internal quality assurance on comparable programmes
  • Workplace coaching qualification or relevant experience
