It’s time to get your strawberries and cream out – Wimbledon is back!

Becoming a sporting champion takes hard work and determination, much like studying. We hope some of our favourite motivational quotes from tennis’s biggest success stories will put you in the mood to meet your goals today.

1.“You have to find it. No one else can find it for you.” – Björn Borg, former world champion. Borg certainly found it, because he succeeded in winning Wimbledon 5 years in a row (1976-80).

2.“A smile is a curve that can straighten out a lot of problems.” – Ana Ivanovic, ranked number 1 in the world in 2008 by the Women’s Tennis Association. She won the French Open in the same year.

3. “Everyone’s dream can come true if you stick to it and work hard.” – Serena Williams, who must have made many of her dreams come true with such a successful career so far. She has ranked World Number 1 on 8 occasions.

4.“Success is a journey, not a destination. The doing is usually more important than the outcome.” – Arthur Ashe, the only black man to have won the singles title at Wimbledon, the US Open, and the Australian Open.

5.“The message I like to convey to women and girls across the globe is that there is no glass ceiling.” – Venus Williams, the first African American woman to become World Number 1 in the Open Era. (Photo by: JCtennis.com)
