Arden University has launched four new criminology degrees, all of which are BA (Hons). The new courses available for students from autumn 2016 onwards are Criminology & Law, Criminology and Psychology, Criminology & Sociology and Criminal Justice.
Designed to investigate the relationship between crime, society and law, the courses will examine related elements of the legal system, criminal behaviour and the connection between the individual and wider society.
Students will explore the phenomenon of crime and the implications it has on society. They will discuss, analyse and look at the causes of criminal behaviour and develop approaches as to how it can be prevented. Learners will look at crime from social, legal, political and personal perspectives, enabling them to gain valuable analytical and research skills, making them highly employable.
These courses are taught solely online, helping students fit study around work, family and other life commitments.
Speaking about the new course, John Vaughan, Academic Director at Arden University said:
“We have worked hard to develop courses that give a thorough understanding of crime and its effects on society, which will give students a truly in-depth insight into their chosen field of study.
By developing these flexible, distance learning degrees which supplement criminology with other aspects of social science, we are nurturing students to be fit and ready for the workplace or postgraduate study.”
