Being productive and creating a space that enhances your productivity can be a little tricky in today’s “always on” and connected world. But don’t worry, we have the top 5 ways you can increase your productivity, reach your goals and maximise your potential.
1 in 4 people in the world use social media (that’s over 2.2 billion!). Platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram can be highly addictive, sneakily eating into your time. If it’s not checking social media then e-mails are not too far away either. The constant ‘ping’ not only distracts you, but it makes you lose focus. Our advice is to… switch it off! Only allow distractions when you have the time. It will not only increase your productivity, but give your brain a well-deserved rest.
Avoid headaches and fatigue by taking regular short breaks and have a bottle of water at hand to ensure your brain is working to its full potential. As pointed out by Forbes magazine, taking breaks as short as 15 minutes helps you focus and gives your mind and body the time it needs to rest!
We all have goals and ambitions – whether it’s a holiday, a new car or simply passing that all important exam. Keeping your mind focused on a goal will keep you motivated and in doing so will improve the quality of the work you are producing and your general morale.
Setting exciting goals is just the start. The next step is to tell others about them – it will help you work harder towards bringing your goals to life. After all, who wants to tell other people about their plans just to watch them fall flat? So tell your family and friends – they will not only support you, but also cheer you on, gearing your mind to be more productive.
Being rewarded or rewarding yourself can lead to greater motivation. After successfully ticking a goal off your list why not make that drink or buy yourself something nice? Hard work deserves to be rewarded and it’ll only make you want to work harder for the next goal.
