This Arden University BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance degree has an integrated foundation year to better enable you to pursue your higher education goals, even if it has been a while since you last studied. 

The foundation year will cover the key practical skills needed for your studies, and with our blended model you will find an accommodating mix of flexibility via our online learning portal, and the structure and support of a classroom experience in twice-weekly lectures at one of our study centres in London, Birmingham or Manchester.

Arden University Blended Learning Degree example time table

When can I study?

Requiring 8 hours of classes a week at your chosen UK study centre, courses are scheduled as follows: 

  • Weekdays*: 2 days per week, 4 hours per day (either 9.00–13.00 or 13.30-17.30)
  • Evenings**: 2 evenings per week 17.30–21.30
  • Weekends**: Saturdays

In addition to the 8 hours of face-to-face teaching each week, you will have an additional 12 hours of online tuition and 13.5 hours of recommended self-guided study time. This is perfect if you want more guided learning, but need the flexibility to study around work, family or other commitments.

This Blended Learning Accounting & Finance Degree with Foundation Year has standard entry requirements. To be eligible for this four-year course at Arden University you must have either:

  • GCSE Maths Grade C or equivalent
  • At least 1 year's full-time work experience

Candidates who do not have GCSE English at grade C or 5 will be required to undertake a literacy assessment for entry. Students must still have an English qualification to support previous study in English – the Arden English Assessment does not exempt you from this.

Candidates for our BSc (Hons) Accounting & Finance Degree with Foundation Year are also required to submit a personal statement (of between 350-550 words) or interview demonstrating an ability to study the programme at Arden University, taking into account:

  • Their motivation for undertaking the programme
  • Relevant work experience
  • Prior qualifications
  • References

If your previous study was not in English, you will also need to have IELTS 6.0 or equivalent (no less than 5.5 in any element).
