Arden's BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance Degree is an Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) accredited programme. Completion of this ACCA course online will enable you to be given exemptions from the ACCA Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills stages (old F1-F9).

Our ACCA accredited BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance Degree will provide you with key skills in financial reporting and management accounting, and knowing how to apply these to inform good financial decision making in real business situations. Studying a Finance and Accounting course from home gives you the flexibility to fit your studies around any other commitments, such as work, family life or a hobby you don’t want to compromise on. 

You have 3-9 years to complete your online accounting course, meaning that you can take up to three years to complete each level; however, many of our students complete the course in 3-6 years.

Assessments

During your Accounting and Finance online course, you’ll be assessed in a variety of ways. This gives your tutors the opportunity to see your progress, and gives you the chance to demonstrate your strength and understanding. However, as this is an ACCA Degree qualification, we also need to comply with ACCA requirements, meaning that a high proportion of modules will be assessed by examination.

To support your development and ensure you are on the right track with your studies Arden will provide you with mock examinations and tutor feedback on every assessment you submit. This Arden University Distance Learning ACCA Degree has standard entry requirements. To be eligible for this BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance (ACCA) course you must have either:

  • Two subjects at GCE A-Level or equivalent, plus passes at grade C or above in Maths and two other subjects at GCSE level or equivalent; OR
  • Completed a recognised Access Programme or equivalent

For students whose prior learning was not taught in English

  • IELTS 6.0 (no less than 5.5 in any element); or TOEFL iBT 80; or equivalent
  • Alternatively, a letter to show that the Medium of Instruction was in English is accepted
  • We also offer an internal English test for applicants who are unable to provide an English Proficiency letter. More information on this can be found here

If you are a UK student, the most common funding of undergraduate degrees is a Tuition Fee Loan from the UK Government. The key information about these loans is:

  • You must be a UK resident
  • You can get a loan to cover the full cost of your tuition fees
  • You only start to pay it back when you are earning over £25,725 a year.
  • Your tuition fees are paid directly to the University by the loan company.

How does it work?

Once you enrol with Arden, you will receive access to both Salesforce and Cisco’s online, self-paced courses through your learning platform, iLearn. Here, you’ll be able to pick and choose which courses you’d like to study.

You’ll study the course content as and when it suits you. The hours required to complete a course vary; the amount of time needed to complete a Salesforce course ranges from 35 minutes to 21 hours, while the majority of Cisco courses take between 30 and 70 hours.

These courses are an added extra – so it’s entirely up to you whether you complete one, 10 or none at all! Your participation (or decision not to study these additional extras) won’t have any effect on your Degree or the grades you receive.

Fees

The Salesforce Trailhead and Cisco courses are completely free to study, but there is a fee of £150-£200 per badge for LinkedIn badge certifications from Cisco.
