Whether it’s understanding the issues facing modern tourism, exploring the nature of domestic vs international travel, or analysing data to improve business performance, completing Arden's business tourism degree will give you the skills needed to work in the tourism industry. To be eligible for our online business and tourism degree course, you must have either:

  •     Two subjects at GCE A-Level or equivalent, plus passes at grade C or above in three subjects at GCSE level or equivalent; OR
  •     Completed a recognised Access Programme or equivalent

For students whose prior learning was not taught in English, you must have IELTS 6.0 or equivalent (no less than 5.5 in any element).

If you have work experience

If you don’t fulfil the entry criteria your application may be considered on an individual basis, taking in to account any work experience, other qualifications and/or any training you have completed. Please call or email for further information.

We’ll ask you for a personal statement that demonstrates your ability to study your online travel and tourism degree via Distance Learning with Arden. We’ll also ask you for references and evidence of relevant work experience.

How do tourism courses online work?

Once you enrol with Arden, you will receive access to both Salesforce and Cisco’s online, self-paced courses through your learning platform, iLearn. Here, you’ll be able to pick and choose which courses you’d like to study.

You’ll study the course content as and when it suits you, making it easier than ever to fit study around other responsibilities. The hours required to complete a course vary. the length of time needed to complete a Salesforce course ranges from 35 minutes to 21 hours, while the majority of Cisco courses take between 30 and 70 hours.

These courses are an added extra – it’s entirely up to you whether you complete one, 10 or none at all! Your participation (or decision not to study these additional extras) won’t have any effect on your degree or the grades you receive.

Fees

The Salesforce Trailhead and Cisco courses are completely free to study, but there is a fee of £150-£200 per badge for LinkedIn badge certifications from Cisco.
