Learning with Arden University is all about flexibility. We believe everybody should have access to Higher Education, no matter what their circumstances. You'll typically spend 8 hours a week in the classroom, with the rest (or all, if you’re studying via Distance Learning) of your weekly studies carried out as and when it suits you. With so many ways to access your learning resources, be it by laptop, phone or tablet, you can fit study around your life.

If you enrol on an Arden Distance Learning course, there is no campus and no fixed timetable – instead, you study from home, as and when it suits you. We provide you with all the study materials you need, a team of expert tutors and other support to get you through your studies and the qualification you gain at the end is the same as any other UK university Degree.

We also offer Blended Learning at our study centres in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Berlin. You get access to all our online materials and support, but you’ll attend classes at your study centre two days a week, giving you face-to-face time with tutors and that additional structure to your student life.

This new way of studying provides the best of face-to-face and online learning. You attend regular classroom sessions at your chosen study centre with other students, and carry out the rest of your weekly study independently using the online materials you’re provided with. You upload coursework and assignments to a secure online zone, with easy access to a tutor via email. Our Blended Learning model enables you to complete a full three-year degree, with just 2 days face-to-face commitment per week, alongside independent online learning.

You’ll need a device with an internet connection to access and download your learning materials. Ideally, this will be a computer or laptop - but you can also access ilearn on your tablet or mobile phone. Additionally, if you choose to study at one of our study centres, you will have access to their computer facilities, even on days where you don’t have scheduled classes. Please note that if you’re using a Chromebook, only those released in 2020 onwards support SPSS and Jamovi, which are essential requirements for the statistical elements of certain courses. This only affects you if you’re studying one of our BSc or MSc Psychology degrees, including our MSc Business Psychology.

Your learning materials are developed by subject specialists and have been developed with your future career in mind – so you don’t just learn the theory to help you pass your exams, but also real-life, practical examples to make things easier to understand and to help you thrive in the workplace. As well as access to your modules in ilearn, you will also find discussion forums, study schedules, an online library and EBSCO (an online research database).

This varies depending on which course you are studying, but we generally recommend a minimum of 33.5 hours per week – 8 classroom and a minimum of 25.5 independent hours online for Blended learners. With Distance Learning, you have flexibility to set your own pace of study and you can take longer to complete a module if you have commitments that make studying difficult, but equally you can complete your course in the minimum time if you are willing and able.

There are many ways to do this. Tutors often use forums to give general feedback, which all students can benefit from. You can also contact your tutor by email.

If you choose to study via Blended Learning at our London, Birmingham, Manchester or Berlin study centres, you’ll attend 8 hours of classes plus a minimum of 25.5 hours of online independent learning each week. If you study via Distance Learning, you won’t need to attend classes in person as you'll study exclusively online.

Absolutely! We have students from all over the world. Some courses require you to sit formal exams at the university, but we can help you arrange a convenient local venue if you’re not living in the UK.

Yes, you’ll be issued with an Arden student I.D. card and you can apply for a TOTUM card (formerly NUS extra) if you wish.

Yes! You’ll be invited to attend a graduation ceremony, held in the UK. If you’re unable to attend, you’ll receive your certificate in the post.

While you can choose to do this, there are other options. You can pay in instalments, apply for Student Loan funding* or seek employer funding*. Speak to our Student Recruitment Team if you’d like to know more.

You can pay using our Online Payment Gateway or call us on the number at the top of the page. We accept credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard and UK Maestro), and bank transfers. Currently we are unable to accept Amex cards for payment. Students can also pay via PayPal if they are paying in GBP.

There usually is. We need to receive your payment in full, so please talk to your bank about this. They can tell you how much the charge is and make sure we get the full amount.
