Arden Colleagues - Nicola Wingate

I’ve made so many friends here, and meet them regularly outside of work. We’ve been for afternoon tea, dinners and I like them so much, I even went on a weekend break with them. It was great fun!

"After doing my A-levels, I worked in financial services for 3 years, and although I enjoyed the work there, I was ready for a change. I liked working with customers and within a team, I just wanted to work somewhere which offered a service which really had an impact on a customer’s life.

After chatting to a friend, he mentioned that a new role had just opened up at his work, Arden University (then RDI). I remember him gushing about how rewarding he found his work, and how lovely everyone was – he had well and truly sold the role to me, he actually enjoyed coming to work every morning.

It sounded like the kind of environment and service offering I was looking for, I applied for an Admissions Advisor role back in 2010 and I got the job!

My role involves supporting prospective students with their applications and guiding them through to enrolment. Helping others shape their future is incredibly rewarding, but it’s the atmosphere and people that make Arden really special."

I’ve received lots of coaching and guidance in Admissions and Arden are keen to continuously offer new opportunities to develop their staff, so much so, that when I asked about studying business myself – they were more than happy to accommodate.

Last year, I started studying BA (Hons) Business (Marketing) to gain insight into a wide range of disciplines, build some transferrable skills for the future and its actually helped me with my hobby of interior design blogging.

My blog is still in the early stages, but I’ve managed to create my first few entries and social media pages as a way to communicate any new entries I post. I also help out on Arden’s Instagram stories which has helped build my confidence in doing something similar for my own page.
