Benefits for UK employers

  • Degree apprenticeships are a great way of attracting and retaining talented employees
  • Classes are blocked so that students are out of the workplace for only two days per quarter
  • The module assessments are designed to make immediate contribution to workplace
  • Degree apprenticeships are funded by the Skills Funding Agency on behalf of the UK government, so that two-thirds of the tuition fees are covered by external funding
  • From Spring 2017, larger employers will be required to pay a new apprenticeships levy and buying apprenticeship places for their staff is the only way to tap back into this funding.
  • A summary of the government’s vision for apprenticeships and their benefits can be accessed here.
