Our aim is to guide, support, and share knowledge in a collaborative environment, linking academics, researchers, and businesses to specific projects and funding avenues.
Our mission is to enhance research income, foster impactful publications, provide access to academic resource, and bring together expertise from across the university to create real-world solutions that benefit society.

Our team offers clear guidance on the best collaboration routes, whether through research agreements, consultancy pathways, or other mechanisms, ensuring each partnership is structured for maximum impact. We also identify funding opportunities that align with shared goals and support contract negotiations, creating robust and fair agreements that give every collaboration the best chance to thrive.
Knowledge Exchange
We provide end-to-end support to help turn ideas into impactful, fundable projects. We connect partners with the right expertise, align ambitions with suitable funding, and shape proposals that are both compelling and competitive. Our team guides every stage of bid development, ensures compliance with funder requirements, and supports delivery through specialist costing, review, and contract negotiation—giving collaborations the best chance to succeed.
With over 37 years of business development expertise in the Higher Education sector, Ruth is a key driver of research, innovation, and strategic partnerships at Arden University.
Her current focus areas at Arden include:

- Enhancing strategic industry engagement across sectors such as health, sustainability, and digital innovation
- Advising on funding opportunities, proposal writing, and partnership development

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships
The Research and Knowledge Exchange Hub will provide full support throughout the KTP process, beginning with eligibility checks and the collation of a suitable academic team to support the project, through to submission of the application, successful recruitment of the graduate (KTP Associate), and ongoing project management. A dedicated Knowledge Transfer Adviser (KTA), employed by Innovate UK, will also offer guidance on completing the application form and provide support throughout the KTP project, working closely with the Hub to ensure the collaboration delivers maximum impact.
