Rehabilitation vs Desistance: The Journey Away from Crime

Are you interested in studying Criminology? At Arden, our criminology syllabuses are updated on a quarterly basis, to ensure that the subjects you learn about are entrenched in the here and now. This empowers our students to grow their opinions, enter debate, and apply what they learn to contemporary systems.

Our aim is also to make learning as accessible as possible by ensuring that you can study in a flexible and convenient way. This taster session will be hosted by two fantastic academics who will give you an insight into the topics you can be studying with Arden. This will also be an exciting opportunity to ask any questions you have about higher education!


Ask Arden: How Can I Make a Career Switch?

Are you thinking of making a career switch and want to come back to higher education? Thanks to Arden’s flexible online courses, you can build studying around your responsibilities. Our courses are made up of modules in 10-week blocks, so you only need to dedicate time to studying during that period. After you’ve completed a module, you can take a break or pause your studies, if you need to focus on the other aspects of life. This event will be an opportunity to find out how we can support you with your career goals and what support there is for you!

The ‘Ask Arden’ series is an opportunity to meet staff, academics and lecturers at the university and ask any questions you have about university. Register now to book your place!


Arden University Virtual Open Day: Meet our Staff

Have you ever attended a virtual open day before? Arden runs virtual open days throughout the year to allow you to ask questions about the application process, the global value of our degrees and what support is available for you once you become a student. It is a great way to find out more about the university, no matter where you live or what you do! If you can’t attend live, you can still register and receive the recording! This open day will consist of three short talks, followed by an opportunity for questions and answers:

  • Introduction to Arden, how to apply and what to expect after application?  
  • Information for international students: fees, funding, entry requirements
  • What general support is there for students? What opportunities are there after university? What if English is not your first language or you are returning to education after a break?
  • Q&A session

Exposing and Challenging Crimes of the Powerful: Visual/Digital Technology

The session with one of our fantastic academics will explore how visual criminology and digital technology are reshaping efforts to document and challenge state and corporate crime. It will give prospective students an insight into state crime and human rights violations, the role of user-generated content in exposing abuses and how visual evidence can challenge narratives and be used for accountability.
