Course Overview

Our new Level 6 Leadership and Management Apprenticeship (Health and Care), aligns to IFATE’s soon to be published Leadership and Management Professional Degree Apprenticeship Standard.

This programme is built for those working in a health and care setting, aimed at both first-time managers as well as those existing managers who have workplace experience but limited formal training, and helps build all the skills required to be a successful current and future leader.

The programme ensures apprentices are future focused through development of knowledge to underpin responsible and sustainable work practices, driving project delivery, innovation, continuous improvement and change management, as well as developing skills in forward planning, managing resources, making ethical choices, managing important relationships, and building a positive culture.

Leaders and managers in health and care influence people, processes, and products in alignment with agreed outcomes, guiding organisations and leading teams towards achieving their goals and the 6 Leadership and Management Apprenticeship (Health and Care) is particularly relevant for leaders whose roles involve managing delivery challenges and coordinating improvements in care quality.

Learners will also have the choice to study the NHS Leadership Academy Mary Seacole Programme, a practice-focused leadership programme for early career leaders, as part of the apprenticeship.

Course details and modules

An innovative approach to health care and management is the only answer to the extensive changes the sector has experienced as a result of the pandemic. To reflect the ever-growing need for managers to focus on mental health and well-being, the programme highlights broader, societally relevant themes, such as emotional resilience and compassionate leadership. This will allow those on the course to develop into a competent manager ready to successfully take on these important matters in the workplace.

So, if you’re looking for a health and social care-oriented degree, on-the-job experience and a development pathway to chartered status, look no further than the Level 6 Leadership and Management Professional Apprenticeship (Health and Care).

Cemene Wellington

I chose to study with Arden University because the staff members were really supportive and nice. The course also fitted around my job. With Arden, I’ve finally learned to cope and understand my learning pattern, and my dyslexia. I’m on a Blended Learning degree, which involves a couple of days a week in the classroom with other students and tutors at Arden’s University centre in Ealing, West London plus fully supported online study.
