Arden's BA (Hons) Business Management course will equip you with the knowledge and understanding of key and cross-functional business and management disciplines. You’ll study for your Degree alongside work-based practical learning, where you can apply your learning directly into your role.

As a Degree Apprentice, your work-based learning becomes an integral part to your qualification. As you’re working, remember to build a portfolio of evidence including completed assessments, evaluations from the workplace, presentations, minutes of meetings, business proposals and performance reviews. Our Student Support Coordinators at Arden University will be able to help you with this.

Assessments

You’ll be assessed through a variety of methods including:

  • Assignments
  • Reports
  • Practical exercises
  • Projects
  • Work-based project
  • Presentations
  • Panel interview

In addition, you’ll be requested to build a portfolio of evidence demonstrating how your learning has been applied to your workplace.

Towards the end of the programme, you’ll complete a work-based project that brings together elements of your learning that demonstrate how your knowledge and understanding of management have been applied in the organisation. The final assessment will be a panel interview, where you’ll present your project, portfolio of evidence and will include a Q&A session. 

To be eligible for this Degree Apprenticeship at Arden University you must have either:

  • Two Subjects at GCE A level or equivalent, plus passes at grade C or above in English and Maths, plus one other subject, at GCSE level or equivalent; or
  • Completion of a recognised Access Programme or equivalent.

For students whose prior learning was not taught in English:

  • IELTS 6.0 or equivalent (no less than 5.5 in any element).

If you don't have English and/or Maths qualification (level 2): You will need to commit to achieving these qualifications by the end of your apprenticeship. This will be facilitated at no additional cost to you.

Candidates who demonstrate an ability to study the programme as evidenced through previous vocational experience will be required to submit a personal statement (of between 350-500 words) that addresses their motivation for undertaking the programme; including their reference contacts, relevant prior experience and qualifications.

You must also provide written evidence confirming support from your employer, alongside evidence of appropriate employment.

Individual employers may set specific selection criteria for their Apprenticeships.

Completing a Degree Apprenticeship with Arden means you’ll be in employment and learning professional skills and knowledge as you work, developing transferable skills as you go. You will be gaining relevant, valuable industry experience, gaining a professional qualification, along with Chartered Manager status, making you stand out from the crowd.

And what’s more, you’ll be earning as you work and learn. Upon successful completion, you’ll be equipped with a CMI accredited BA (Hons) in Business Management, valuable industry knowledge and experience, and a potential employer to take you on full-time after you graduate.

The programme will be delivered via Blended Learning. You’ll have access to a content-rich online platform, iLearn, where you can study at your own pace and in your own time. This will be supported by scheduled face-to-face sessions at one of our UK study centres located in Birmingham, Manchester or London.

Your tutor will visit you in the workplace regularly, ensuring you are demonstrating relevant skills and to offer advice on the areas or skills you may find challenging.
