We're with you every step of the way

At Arden University, we pride ourselves on the student support services we offer. After all, a solid support system is the key to success, providing you with all the help and guidance you’ll need throughout your university journey. Whether it’s financial support for students or general advice for students, we’re here to help at every stage of your degree.

So, when will you start receiving student support? Our student support team are available as soon as you start your learning journey. They’ll guide you through your induction and enrolment which tells you everything you need to know about studying online, or through blended learning. 

As you progress, you will have a team of support staff giving you any guidance or help you might need. We have over 80 lecturers and over 65 support staff helping students all over the world to achieve their ambitions.

Arden University student services

As well as our student support services and advisors, your Arden University lecturers are also there to help you through your modules. Your lecturer should be the first person you approach if you have any questions about your programme or assignment. They will be posting thought-provoking discussions, engaging in forum conversations and hosting webinars to really help you understand your study materials.

Additional support services – going beyond what’s expected

The student support available at Arden doesn't just involve your academic work – because our Student Support Team are also here for any other queries or help you may need.

When your enrolment is complete and you begin your studies, you will be assigned a dedicated Success Coach who will work with you to ensure you have a full understanding of how your studies work and help guide you with questions you may have. You will be invited to multiple webinars with topics such as motivation, planning, time-management and submissions and you will be able to schedule ongoing regular one to one sessions. Your Success Coach is there, not only to support you with any barriers that you may need to overcome, but also to cheer for you as you succeed!

Support champions are also available to answer any queries you may have in person at the study centre, through phone, email or live chat. Whether you have general questions or need advice on how to submit your assignment, help to meet your programme  requirements, or if there’s anything else you might need assistance with - including any personal issues - Arden’s student support service is there for you.

While university is an exciting and rewarding time for most people, we understand that sometimes it can lead to stress and pressure. So, if you're feeling the strain, or suffering from anxiety, depression, financial worries or relationship problems that could potentially affect your studies, we can offer a helping hand. You can access support if you are studying with a disability, experiencing mental health difficulties or have welfare/financial difficulties. These services are available through Inclusion services where we have dedicated Inclusion advisers for disability, welfare, and wellbeing they are always happy to offer support, guidance and reasonable adjustments to prevent these things getting in the way of successful study. Togetherall 

All Arden University students have access to Togetherall, which includes free online welfare, as well as advice for students and wellbeing support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Whether you're struggling to sleep, feeling low or stressed, or find yourself unable to cope, Togetherall can help you get support, take control, and feel better.

Togetherall provides a safe space online to get things off your chest, explore your feelings, get creative and learn how to self-manage your mental health and wellbeing. 

ProblemShared

Arden students who may need to work with a therapists or counsellor may be able to access this through ProblemShared or with our Arden mental health adviser, our mental health adviser will work with you to find out what is best for you.

Academic skills workshops and one-to-one support

We know that some of our students may not have been in education for some time, or simply need a confidence boost, so we’ve devised a series of workshops that run throughout the year to offer support.  
To give our students the upper hand, we run a variety of valuable workshops via our online portal - iLearn - completely free of charge.  

Subjects covered include: 

  • Introduction to academic writing  
  • Rudiments of writing 
  • Paraphrasing and synthesising 
  • Critical thinking 
  • Understanding plagiarism 
  • Reading and note taking 
  • Introduction to the library 
  • Advanced literature searching 
  • Referencing workshops 
  • Approaching assignments 
  • Your virtual classroom 
  • Proofreading 
  • Identifying a research topic (dissertation)

As well as regular workshops, students can also work with Academic Skills Tutors on a one-to-one basis, so you can ask whatever you need and develop key skills to progress in your degree. These are available to all current students via study-skills@arden.ac.uk
