You will have the chance to become proficient in a variety of digital technologies such as SPSS, NVIVO, Stata, Gorilla, and more. This allows you to learn about virtual simulations that can be utilised to forecast, model, and plan for future infectious and non-infectious disease outbreaks, as well as how to handle real-life challenges that may arise in their future careers in public health.

The aim of the assessments you will undertake is to encourage you to confidently apply the knowledge and skills gained in each module in the context of a ‘real world’ global health practice scenario. The following assessment types are used at various stages of the course:
Additionally, the Master of Public Health culminates with the submission of an Industry-based Project, which should bring together the knowledge, skills, and attributes you have gained across all of your course modules. This project is an independent piece of work focused on a current theme in public health practice, which will help you look deeper into your current or future work interests. If you are already working in the public health sector, you will be encouraged to identify a situation that is ‘live’ in your current workplace and work through it in a simulated environment with the support of our academic team.
At Arden University we consider applications on a case by case basis. If you have significant work experience, have qualifications you have gained elsewhere, or a degree or qualification that isn't a clear pathway to this degree - we are more than happy to discuss your application.
Our aim is to make learning as accessible as possible by ensuring that you can study your degree in a flexible and convenient way. That's why we keep our requirements simple. All you need is a laptop or desktop PC (we recommend one running the latest version of Windows), and a good internet connection. Through ilearn, our online university campus in the cloud, you'll be able to access your course calendar, support services, learning materials, and our online library containing thousands of ebooks, as well as tools for creating assignments, keeping notes, and collaborating with other students on your course.
To be eligible for the Master of Public Health, we need to see that you have:
Standard entry:
A UK Honours Degree or international equivalent at a minimum of second-class (2:2) that is related to the field of clinical health, allied health sciences, health studies, health psychology or a relevant scientific discipline such as biomedical sciences or nutrition.
A maths qualification or equivalent to at least Grade C at GCSE.
Non-standard entry:
In the absence of a UK Honours Degree or equivalent, professional work experience that is relevant to clinical health, allied health science, health studies will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the academic team.
In the absence of a maths qualification or equivalent, professional work experience that relates to statistical modelling and/or analysis, data entry and/or mathematical modelling/budgeting would be considered on a case-by case basis by the academic team.
Programme entry is also subject to Arden University’s standard policies on APEL and ACL.
