Arden launches Buddy Bear design competition

For almost 1,000 years, the symbol of the city of Berlin has been the Berlin Bear. Now, the Arden University Study Centre in Berlin is getting one of its own.

Since their original creation in 2001, the colourful and diversely designed Buddy Bear sculptures have become globally popular figures. An unofficial symbol of Berlin, the bears stand for tolerance, international understanding and living together in peace.

With those themes in mind, and In order to decide how to paint our bear, Arden is launching a design competition for Arden Students  - allowing them to create and paint this new Arden mascot. The winning entry will be unveiled at our student lounge opening party on Friday, 5 May 2023.

If you come up with the winning design, you can win a trip to Berlin (3-5 May, flights from the UK, hotel accommodation, breakfast and dinners covered) or, if you are a Berlin student, a €200 Amazon voucher. During your time in Berlin, you will not only take part in the opening party and do sightseeing, but you will also get to paint your design onto the 2-metre-tall bear.

Further information can be found in the Design Brief and in the Arden Berlin Buddy Bear Competition Terms and Conditions

Good luck!
