5 things to know before your Berlin Graduation Ceremony

Graduation

We’re excited to extend a warm welcome to all students and guests attending this year's Arden University Berlin graduation ceremony.

Taking place on Tuesday 16th May 2023, the graduation ceremony is a significant milestone in your academic journey. It will also be a landmark day for Arden, as this is our first graduation ceremony to take place in the German capital. We’re very excited to be there.

In order to ensure that you, your guests, and your fellow students all have an unforgettable ceremony, please check out the below information to guarantee the day runs smoothly.

How will I get my tickets for Arden’s Berlin graduation?

If you have registered that you are attending our ceremony, you will receive your e-tickets for yourself and your guests at least one week before the ceremony via email. If you don't receive your tickets by 10th May 2023, please contact us at graduation@arden.ac.uk.

Please note that we are at full capacity so no extra guest tickets will be available on the day.

Where is Arden’s Berlin graduation taking place?

Arden’s graduation ceremony will take place in Berlin, at the Spreespeicher, Stralauer Allee 2, 10245.

Situated in the Kreuzberg district, an area known for its vibrant atmosphere, the venue itself is located on the banks of the River Spree, with stunning views of the water and the city skyline.

A stone’s throw away from the iconic East Side Gallery, the nearest train station is Ostbahnhof, which is just a 10-minute walk away. This station is served by S-Bahn, U-Bahn, and regional trains, making it easily accessible from all parts of Berlin. There are also several bus and tram stops nearby, providing convenient public transportation options.

What time does Arden Berlin’s Graduation ceremony start and when should I arrive at the venue?

The ceremony will start at 3pm. Registration opens at 1:30pm and please note that guests need to be seated before 2:45pm. We recommend students and their guests arrive at least an hour before this to allow themselves time to go through registration, gowning, and professional photography.

Unfortunately, once the ceremony has started no latecomers will be admitted, so please leave yourself plenty of time to get there.

What will happen on the day?

Starting at 3pm, the graduation ceremony will last approximately one hour. There will be speeches from Professor Carl Lygo, Arden University’s Vice Chancellor, Dr. Tobias Kliem, Head of the Berlin Study Centre; Professor Ann Tate CBE, Chair of Board of Directors; and Dace Rozina, Arden’s Students’ Association President, before students will be invited up onto the stage to shake hands with the Presiding Officer.

After the ceremony, students are invited to join the Alumni Reception, where drinks will be available, to celebrate their success with peers, guests, and Arden University’s academics.

There will also be a merchandise stand, careers stand, and some great photo opportunities.

My friends and family can’t make it, can they still watch me graduate?

We will be live-streaming Arden’s Berlin graduation ceremony on the day. This link will also be sent out to you by email, allowing you to send on to any family and friends who are not able to attend so that they can join you virtually to celebrate your success.
