Documents Required for Standard and Non-Standard Entry
Once you have submitted your application for your chosen course, your Arden University Student Recruitment Advisor will request some documentation from you so that they can help you gain that all important offer letter.
We know everyone is different
We use both standard and non-standard entry criteria because everyone has had different experiences to this point and we always judge each application on an individual basis, so don't worry if you think you may not have the required documents - we'll talk you through everything and what counts towards your eligibility for your course at Arden.
What You Need
Typically for an Undergraduate programme (a Foundation Degree, Degree and Degree Top-up) we would request either:
Standard entry based around your academic qualifications:
- Copies of your relevant certificates and/or transcripts.
- Proof of English language ability (IELTS or equivalent), if English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English.
- Personal statement (350-500 words).
OR
Non-standard entry based around your work experience:
- Copy of your CV detailing your work history (2+ years depending on course)
- A reference from a manager or supervisor covering at least two years of work experience (professional references only)
- Personal statement of 350-500 words about why you chose to apply for this course, making reference to relevant skills, experience and long-term goals
- Proof of English language ability (IELTS), if English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English
Please note: For specific courses there may be additional requirements to the above so please contact our Student Recruitment Team who will be able to clarify exactly what you need to supply.
Typically for a Postgraduate programme (a Master's Degree, MBA or other Postgraduate course) we would request either
Standard entry based around your academic qualifications:
- Copies of your final Degree certificate and/or transcript (must be 2:2 or equivalent)
- A personal statement of 350-500 words including; why you want to study the course, any relevant experience, skills, attributes and long term goals.
- Proof of English language ability (IELTS or equivalent), if English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English
For MBA courses, we may also ask you to supply:
- An employer reference (or references) confirming professional work experience relied upon in the application.
- A copy of your CV detailing your work history. (Please highlight any experience which relates directly to the course you are applying for)
OR
Non-standard entry based around your work experience:
- A personal statement of 350-500 words including; why you want to study the course, any relevant experience, skills, attributes and long term goals.
- An employer reference (or references) confirming your suitable professional work experience relied upon in the application.
- A copy of your CV detailing your 5+ years work history. (Please highlight any experience which relates directly to the course you are applying for)
- Proof of English language ability (IELTS or equivalent), if English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English
