We are pleased to announce that Arden University has been given a Silver award in the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index 2024, a benchmarking tool used to gauge an organisation’s progress on LGBTQI+ inclusion in the workplace.
Arden University CEO and Vice-Chancellor, Carl Lygo, commented: “We are incredibly proud that Stonewall has recognised our commitment to LGBTQI+ inclusion in this way.
“Arden University has amazingly talented, diverse teams of staff who come together to create first-class experiences for our students. As a university we are passionate about providing equal opportunities for all our colleagues - we believe our diversity makes us stronger and enables us to create a welcoming environment where all our students can shine.”
Our participation in the Stonewall Index is a key component of our ongoing efforts to ensure a welcoming and supportive workspace for all Arden University staff members, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression.
The Silver award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion team members, and our LGBTQI+ network (SPARKle) colleagues, especially Rob Barnsley, Fernando Rosell-Aguilar and Berdel Efe Gulsen.
Kate Lister, Director of EDI at Arden University, told us: “Our team have worked tirelessly to build an inclusive environment in which everyone can bring their best selves to work, and know they will get equal opportunities to shine and progress through their journey with us.
“This award is a very visible demonstration of our unwavering commitment to LGBTQ+ equality and is something we are incredibly proud to receive. As an organisation we are committed to building on this and look forward to driving more initiatives which will move us even further up the rankings in 2025.”
We hope everyone in the Arden University community will join us in celebrating this recognition as we continue to strive for excellence and inclusivity at every level of our institution.
