Here at Arden University we understand that studying for a degree is about more than assignments and deadlines. Everyone’s journey is different, and sometimes balancing study with work, family, finances, or everyday life can feel challenging. That is why we aim to make support easy to access, easy to understand, and part of everyday student life from the very beginning.
Whether you are thinking about applying or are already studying with us, we want you to feel supported and confident throughout your time at university.
Support before you even start
Starting university can feel like a big step, especially if it has been a while since you last studied or if you are the first in your family to go to university. It’s completely normal to have questions or feel unsure about what to expect. That’s why our support starts before your course even begins.
Helping you feel prepared
We regularly run activities such as campus events, orientation sessions, and online guidance to help you understand how university works and what support is available to you before you start studying.
We also know that university processes and information can sometimes feel confusing, so we are working to make everything clearer and easier to follow. From application guidance to enrolment support, we want you to feel informed and confident at every stage.
Learn from current students
Sometimes the best advice comes from people who have already been through the same experience. Through our Unibuddy platform, you can chat directly with current Arden students, ask questions, and hear honest advice about student life, managing study alongside other commitments, and settling into university.
Support while you study
Once you join Arden, our focus is helping you stay on track and feel supported throughout your course. Our teams are here to help with both your wellbeing and your studies, so you never feel like you have to manage everything alone.
Wellbeing support
We offer free and confidential wellbeing support for all students.
Our wellbeing and disability teams are here to listen, offer guidance, and help you find the right support for your situation. Whether you are dealing with stress, anxiety, personal challenges, or a disability or long-term condition, there is someone you can talk to.
We are also introducing a new psychology and wellbeing resource platform, with practical tools, helpful guides, and self-help resources focused on mental health and neurodiversity. This gives students the chance to access support in a way that works best for them and at their own pace.
If you ever need urgent support, our wellbeing hub also provides clear information about 24/7 services available both in the UK and internationally.
Academic support designed around you
Studying at university can take time to adjust to, especially if academic writing, referencing, or online learning are new to you. That is why we provide practical academic support throughout your studies.
The Learning Success Hub
Our Learning Success Hub offers workshops and guidance on a wide range of study skills, including:
- Academic writing
- Referencing
- Time management
- Research skills
- Preparing assignments
- Dissertation support
The aim is to help you build confidence step by step, no matter your starting point.
Support before problems grow
Our tutors and support teams try to identify when students may be struggling and reach out early, rather than waiting for problems to become overwhelming. Sometimes a simple conversation or extra guidance can make a big difference.
We are also working to make assignment instructions, module information, and feedback clearer and easier to understand, so you always know what is expected and how to improve.
A university that understands real life
Many Arden students are balancing study with jobs, caring responsibilities, or other commitments outside university. Some are returning to education after years away, while others are the first in their family to study for a degree. Because of this, we believe support should never feel difficult to ask for.
We want our students to feel comfortable reaching out for help, whether that is for academic guidance, financial support, wellbeing services, or simply advice on managing university life.
We also continue to review where students may face barriers or unequal experiences, so we can improve support where it is needed most. This includes initiatives such as targeted mentoring, wellbeing services, and financial support options designed to help students stay on track and achieve their goals.
We’re here to support you
University is a journey, and you don’t have to go through it alone. Whatever stage you are at, Arden’s teams are here to help you feel supported and confident as you work towards completing your degree.
You can find more information about the support available through the Arden University Wellbeing Services page.
