Wellbeing Services

Support and Inclusivity

At Arden University, your wellbeing is at the heart of what we do. We understand that university life can be both exciting and challenging which is why our dedicated Wellbeing Service is here to support you every step of the way.

Whether you’re seeking wellbeing advice, mental health support, or assistance with a disability or health condition, our experienced team is here to help.

What we offer

Disability and Accessibility Support

Our friendly team will work with you to understand your individual needs and help arrange reasonable adjustments such as extra time in exams, extensions on coursework, or alternative formats for learning materials.

If you think you might have a Specific Learning Difference (SpLD), such as dyslexia or dyspraxia, we can arrange a free screening or diagnostic assessment to help you understand your needs and access the right support.

We’ll guide you through the application process and help you access funding for specialist equipment, software, or study support.

Find more information about DSA available on the government website page.

Workshops and Events

Join sessions that promote inclusion, raise awareness, and provide practical strategies for learning and wellbeing.

Ongoing one-to-one support

We provide continued support for a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Physical and sensory disabilities
  • Long-term health conditions (e.g. epilepsy, diabetes, chronic pain)
  • Mental health conditions (e.g. PTSD, anxiety, depression)
  • Neurodivergent conditions (e.g. autism, ADHD, dyslexia)

If you are an apprenticeship learner, you are not eligible for DSA but you can still access support and adjustments via our team of Disability and Accessibility Advisors.

If you think you have an additional learning need or disability, please disclose this on application and contact us at wellbeing@arden.ac.uk for a discussion about your needs.

You may also be eligible for Access to Work via your employer. To see how to apply and to check if you are eligible, please visit www.gov.uk/access-to-work.
