The Arden Equality Scholarship

Let’s make inequality history

Arden University is an active promoter of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in higher education. One of our core values is that everyone, no matter their background or circumstances, has the right to improve their lives and inspire communities through their commitment to learning. We also believe that a diverse and more representative student body enriches the experience of all our students.

We’ve launched the Arden Equality Scholarship to support these objectives, celebrate your achievements, and help you achieve the success you deserve in your life and career.

About the award

Each year, five Arden University students will be awarded full scholarships* for the remainder of their studies. If you’ve been affected by unequal access to higher education, or have overcome personal challenges in your life simply because of who you are, the scholarship gives you the chance to gain a life-changing university qualification in a subject you are passionate about.

Who can apply for the scholarship?

We want to hear from anyone currently studying at Arden who has overcome discrimination or challenges because of being part of an underrepresented group in society. This could be because of, but not limited to, your ethnic or socioeconomic background, culture, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, neurodiversity, religion, or age.

How to apply

Send us an essay or three-minute video by email telling us how you’ve overcome inequality in your life. We’re also happy to consider applications in other formats if you feel that a different type of media is more suitable for you; this may include artwork, photography, creative writing, music, etc.

We look forward to using the Equality Scholarship initiative to share your story and raise awareness of the positive impact that diversity has on higher education. In celebrating your determination and courage, we hope to inspire others to build the confidence and resilience needed to overcome challenges they may be facing in their lives right now.

Please note that your submission must state your name, Arden STU number, and confirmation of whether you have obtained 40 credits from your programme so far. Your submission must also be sent using your Arden University student email address only. Please upload your video via a OneDrive link connected to your Arden email address.
