BORN FOR THIS: Mehreen

Mehreen

Mehreen is a Business Management student with Arden University who is currently in her final year of studying with us. A full-time student, Mehreen combines her learning with a budding photography hobby and spending time with her big, supportive family.

Read more below about Mehreen and her roles with us, as she’s both a Student Rep and Student Ambassador. Helping students with Arden queries wherever possible, Mehreen was born to lead the way for others.

Hi Mehreen, what are you studying with Arden?

I'm studying Business as an undergraduate, so I’m a Level Six student. So far, we’ve learned how business impacts real life and our lives on a daily basis. We also learned about different methods to deal with everyday issues.

What's the most interesting thing you've learned about so far?

Management Information Systems. So that’s like a little bit of everything? We’ve learned about different systems, and how they’re been managed around the world.

What have you enjoyed most about studying with Arden?

I enjoy having teachers around who are always willing to help me out. My friends here are very supportive too, and whenever I need something Student Support are really good. So, I’ve really enjoyed my time with Arden.

What are you doing alongside studying as well?

I'm a student ambassador at Arden, which means I talk to different students via the UniBuddy app, helping students around the world. I’m also a student rep which is great for networking. People come to me and say “Oh, I need this help,” and you just help them out.

What are your hobbies outside of studying?

Photography. I’m into nature photography so, whenever I see something I find attractive, I take pictures of them. It could be if I see a butterfly, or like a flower, or a river, or whatever.

Since you started studying with Arden has it changed your outlook at all?

Definitely. I got to learn about study methods. So I didn't know before that I was a kinesthetic learner or audio learner until I was at Arden. Every lecture is very interesting for me and I get to learn about new things every day.

What do you want to do with your degree when you’ve finished?

I think I’d like to gets into HR. I like networking, and I like talking to people. I’m interest in maybe being involved in the recruitment parts of it – to talk about different things with people and find out about their hobbies as well.

How do you balance your studying with the rest of your life?

It is very flexible for me, so I’ve never really had a problem. I’m able to combine doing my work with my family time as well. So, it's not that bad.

What do you think you were born to do? When did you realise that you wanted to do stuff involving helping people?

I have always been a people person. Every time when I was on holiday I would see people communicating and find myself talking to people. I'm a bit more of an introvert now, but I used to make friends every day. Maybe careerwise I feel I was born to combine photography with business, I’m not sure if that's a thing but I really enjoy photography.

What's your advice for anyone that's considering studying with Arden?

Go for it. Take the challenge.
