Celebrating women’s achievements in STEM, Arden University was one of the proud sponsors of the recent Ada Lovelace Day Live! ‘Science Cabaret’ at the Royal Institution in London.
Named after the English writer and mathematician, Ada Lovelace Day is an international celebration of the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). By highlighting the ground-breaking work of women in STEM, it helps create new role models, encouraging more young women to pursue STEM-based careers and supporting women already working in the industry.
Taking place in October, the 2023 Ada Lovelace Day was a big success, with ix members of Arden’s STEM Faculty’s academic staff participating in the flagship event.
The event featured a fantastic line-up of inspirational and passionate women working in STEM in areas such as women’s health, minimising the environmental impact of IT waste, making artificial ribs for cancer patients, and a presenter of exciting science workshops to young people.
