Following the completion of their studies, one of Arden University’s students has recently had their dissertation published by the Probation Institute.
The author, Fliss Holmes, has had her work published as part of the Sir Graham Smith Award 2023.
Producing an impressive piece of work entitled “A qualitative exploration of factors which influence rapport between participants and facilitators of the Building Better Relationships programme, in the community, from the perspective of participants”, Fliss’s report seeks to understand how a positive rapport can develop in group work with perpetrators of domestic abuse.
According to the judges of the Sir Graham Smith Award, 'In the research report, including extensive literature review, academic background to her subject, interviewing and report preparation, Fliss Holmes shows her range of skills in research and analysis. The Probation Institute welcomes and values the report which we will publish and launch in the early Autumn.'
Fliss is now studying towards a Psychology Master’s at Arden, with the aim of studying towards a PhD in Forensic Psychology.
