UPEACE and Arden University: International Conference 15th November 2023

Online International Conference

This online conference will bring together scholars and practitioners from the International University for Peace – Rome and Arden University in an exciting collaboration that reflects Arden’s growing international reputation as a provider of opportunities to students from diverse and non-traditional backgrounds. This is echoed in the conference's aim to explore the role of equality, diversity, inclusion and human rights in the context of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Conference theme: Enacting UN sustainable development goals: Exploring the role of equality, diversity, inclusion and human rights in theory and practice

The UN Sustainable Development Goals represent a global effort to improve the lives of people across the world. Since 2015, many initiatives have sought to progress towards achieving these goals, although the UN acknowledges this needs to be more rapid. The theme of this conference is to examine how we might achieve this in relation to SDG 10 (reduce inequality within and among countries) and SDG 16 (promote just, peaceful, and inclusive societies). Combined, these two goals address fundamental issues around the pursuit of equality, diversity, inclusion and human rights, all of which are integral to the values of UPEACE and Arden University.
