Arden University’s first cohort of international students studying in the UK sampled bratwurst and gluhwein as they had a first-hand experience of a European Christmas market at the mid-way point of their MBA.
The students from Pakistan, India and Nigeria visited the UK’s Second City, Birmingham, as part of their introduction to UK culture – with their visit culminating in a trip to the centrepiece of the city’s winter celebrations, its famous Christmas market.
It was paired with a chance to see Arden’s Lock 14 study centre, the university’s flagship location in the city which was opened by Olympian Bradly Sinden in early 2022.
For the students, the trip was a chance to reflect on their experience of life in the UK, their degree, and their hopes and dreams upon completion of their course next summer.
One of the students, Moin, said: 'The experience and opportunity for all of us has been amazing. Everyone has been so friendly, the campus in London is incredible and the teachers and staff are so engaging and supportive. It has been a dream come true for me.'
Meanwhile fellow student, Lavpreet, said: 'This international degree is going to open up so many opportunities for me – I’m looking forward to seeing what job opportunities will be there for me once I’ve completed the course.
'The location of our study centre at Tower Hill is amazing – close to all of the main attractions in London. The facilities have been very good and so have the lecturers – they’ve been so supportive during our time here so far.'
