ARDEN University has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards (THELMAs) a year after officially launching.
The awards highlight innovation and outstanding work in British higher education, and Arden has been named as a finalist in two categories after it launched in April 2016 as a high-quality, innovative alternative to traditional university. The winners will be announced at a gala awards evening at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane in London on 22 June 2017.
Arden has been shortlisted in the Outstanding Strategic Planning Team and Outstanding Marketing / Communications Team categories by the THELMA judging panel, which is drawn from across the HE sector. The university provides career-focused, flexible and affordable courses online and through its growing network of study centres.
‘We’re delighted to be finalists in the THELMAs. These awards celebrate innovation and best practice in the Higher Education sector and these are what lies at the heart of our approach at Arden University,’ said Victoria Stakelum, deputy CEO of Arden University.
‘Our research showed there was a need to innovate, with many people’s learning needs not being met by the traditional HE sector. We recognised the need to do things differently from tailored online support to blended learning study centres and developing engaging content to improve learner experience.
‘In fact, the phrase ‘do it differently’ has become a key Arden message as we continue to deliver high quality services for our students.’
She added: ‘Arden is all about breaking down barriers and helping people make the most of their potential, and we recognised the need to deliver a learning experience for the modern world. As a new institution, we’re especially proud of the people that we’ve helped study who might not otherwise have gone to university.’
The latest awards shortlisting for Arden University comes as its marketing department was named as finalists in the Clientside Marketing Team of the Year and SME Marketing Campaign of the Year categories at the CIM’s marketing excellence awards 2017. These awards will take place at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane, in London, on 27th April.
