The team behind the launch of a new university has been shortlisted in the prestigious Chartered Institute of Marketing awards.

Arden University’s marketing department have been named as finalists in the Clientside Marketing Team of the Year and SME Marketing Campaign of the Year categories at the CIM’s marketing excellence awards 2017, which will take place at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane, in London, on 27th April.

Victoria Stakelum, Arden University’s Marketing Director, said it was an honour to be shortlisted for the awards. Arden was launched after distance learning specialist RDI was awarded university status in 2015. As well as being an expert in online learning, Arden is leading the way with more flexible and affordable degrees at its new study centres – unlocking higher education for more people.

‘Arden University’s core mission is to make higher education more accessible, engaging and beneficial to people everywhere. We are student-centric and market led. Our work as a marketing team reflects those important values, informed by in-depth qualitative research and insights,’

‘Our research found that the higher education needs of nearly a fifth of working adults in the UK weren’t being met by the traditional HE sector. So, we designed more flexible and affordable degrees because we recognised the need to do it differently when it comes to higher education both online and at our new study centres in London.’

She added: ‘The phrase ‘do it differently’ has become a key Arden message as we launched as a credible alternative to the traditional HE sector, offering quality, value and excellence. Enrolments have jumped by 20 per cent, year on year, and we beat the target for the first intake at our Ealing study centre last autumn. We’re most proud of that the fact that we’ve helped many people study that might not otherwise have been able to.’
