During my time at Arden University, I had the chance to have several appointments with the Career Services Team. They were always a great help and support for me, even beyond career questions. With their guidance, not only could I improve and get my CV tailor-made to the German labour market, but also develop a job search strategy. It led me first to a work-student job, while still studying and after graduation to a full-time job at a prestigious consulting firm in Berlin.

Thanks to Arden’s Career Services, I came across a student job opening in the marketing team at Arden Berlin, which became my first step into the professional world. After my contract ended, Career Services supported me with improving my CV, preparing for interviews, and continuing my career journey. I can really recommend reaching out to them, they made a big difference for me.

I was always good at the technical side of things, but I used to fail interviews because I got too nervous. The Arden Berlin careers team really saved me, they did mock interviews with me, pointed out where I was going wrong and gave me tips to stay calm. Mike Allen is a Lecturer in the School of STEM and teaches on our distance learning programmes. He holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). Before joining Arden, he worked for Dudley College of Technology, Telford College of Arts and Technology, delivering courses in programming, web development to HND students and was course tutor for T Levels.

Shahab Hayat Malik is a highly experienced academic and IT professional with over 30 years of combined experience in university teaching, enterprise consulting, and digital project leadership.

I love my job as I see the impact that I can make in supporting student success on a daily basis, which is very rewarding. Every student is unique for me, and it is exciting to follow how each student evolves in their careers and in achieving their goals.
