Dr. Anthony Thompson

Anthony’s areas of interest include occupational psychology, health psychology and co-creation. Anthony’s PhD explored solutions to sedentary behaviour and physical inactivity in workplace settings. Anthony also has a keen interest in personality and intelligence research, is a qualified psychometrician and has been a recipient of the Psychometrics Forum’s Excellence in Psychometrics Award. Alongside academic research, Anthony has also worked as an independent business psychology consultant helping organisations to develop evidence-based recruitment and selection practices.

Prof. Marcus Leaning

Professor Marcus Leaning is Head of the School of Design and Creativity. Marcus joined Arden University in 2023 and has worked in universities for over 25 years. He has taught in the UK, Thailand, Japan and Costa Rica, is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a National Teaching Fellow. He is the author or editor of eight books, numerous journal articles and has given over 80 conference papers and keynotes in over 30 countries. Marcus is particularly interested in assisting neurodiverse students achieve their potential.

Stefanie Krynauw

Stefanie Krynauw is an enthusiastic designer with a love for art and design. She has experience in 2D and 3D design, mainly focusing on illustration, corporate identity, packaging and product design. Stefanie has more than 16 years of experience in the design industry and has enjoyed teaching and sharing knowledge with students over the last 6 years. Stefanie has degrees in both Graphic and Industrial Design and is working on obtaining an MA in Design at the University of Johannesburg.

Dr Pernille Holm

Pernille Holm is a Danish visual artist and educator based in London and Kent. Since obtaining a PhD in Fine Art from Goldsmith College in 2006, she has dedicated a large part of her professional life to teaching art and design. Pernille is a self-confessed art fanatic, and never tires of talking about and looking at art, as well as creating a dialogue with her students. As an artist, Pernille has exhibited widely across Britain and in Europe, working with a variety of media, including drawing, printmaking, photography, video, and installation.

Rita Saville

Rita joined Arden University as a lecturer in the School of Investigation, Security and Defence in March 2023. Prior to this, she worked for fifteen years as a crime scene investigator within the police service, and two years as a forensic specialist. She trained CSIs and police officers in forensics and managed quality and accreditation for internal departments and external agencies.

Penny Standen

Penny Standen is a lecturer with Arden University. Prior to working at Arden, she worked in a wide variety of forensic roles after graduating from the University of Dundee in 2009 in Forensic Anthropology (BSc Hons.). She has worked internationally with the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, as well as working domestically within the DNA team at Eurofins forensics and has over 6 years’ experience as a Crime Scene Investigator with the police. Penny also studied part-time to complete her Masters in Forensic Investigation graduating in 2019.

Sam Scott

Sam began her career working for Cleveland Police, before training in Crime Scene Examination and Serious and Organised Crime. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Investigative Studies, an MSc in Criminal Investigation and a PGCE in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education.

Dr. Cristiana Cardoso

Dr. Cristiana Cardoso is a Senior Lecturer in Criminology and Programme Caretaker at Arden University. She holds a BA (Hons), MA and PhD in Criminology, a PGCert in Learning and Teaching and a PGCert in Research Practice. Cristiana is a Fellow of the Advance HE and has accrued vast experience in the higher education industry through designing and leading several criminology-related modules and programmes. She also manages various projects and liaises closely with external organisations to develop applied learning opportunities for students during their studies and after they graduate.
