Sophie Ward, Arden University’s Deputy Head of the School of Psychology, has been recognised for her outstanding leadership skills at a national awards ceremony.
She was named winner of the Women in Leadership (National) category at the SHE Inspires Awards, a prestigious awards ceremony which celebrates the achievements of women across the UK and around the world.
Sophie was recognised for the way in which she has driven success in our school of psychology, supporting the continued growth of the school and creating an environment in which academic staff can provide the best learning environment for students, while supporting their own career growth.
She celebrated alongside a whole host of inspiring women from around the UK at a ceremony in Bolton, Greater Manchester.
On receiving the award, Sophie said: “I’m so incredibly grateful to have won this award, which celebrates inspirational women in leadership that take their team to new heights, handling multiple pressures to ensure organisational success.
“Every woman attending the SHE Inspires event or receiving an award will have had one thing in common - at some point in our career we will have experienced challenges due to being a woman. The more we recognise and celebrate our achievements as women, and most importantly support each other, the higher we will rise.”
