Course Overview

Arden University’s CertHE Health and Care Management will give you a robust introduction to health and social care and the essential skills you need to get your career started in the sector.

Regularly updated to address the health and social care sector’s evolving needs, this course will provide you with a solid foundation for future study or work in the field. The CertHE is a recognised qualification in its own right and provides an entry route to degree-level study. This is a great option if you feel ready to study a degree course but don’t have the necessary qualifications usually required, such as GCSEs or A levels.

The CertHE Health and Care Management is the ideal choice for newcomers wanting to enter the field, current professionals looking to transition into their first management role, as well as developing managers seeking to build on their skills.

Cynthia Blow

I chose online learning because I do not currently have the capacity to attend classes as my days are full with running my household, my elderly parents’ household and tending to the needs of my 3-year-old. Online studying has been extremely helpful because it provides the flexibility I need in order to study at random times during the day or night.

Study options

Cemene Wellington

I chose to study with Arden University because the staff members were really supportive and nice. The course also fitted around my job. With Arden, I’ve finally learned to cope and understand my learning pattern, and my dyslexia. I’m on a Blended Learning degree, which involves a couple of days a week in the classroom with other students and tutors at Arden’s University centre in Ealing, West London plus fully supported online study.

Full time blended learning

How does it work?

When you choose our full-time blended learning study mode, you’ll have eight hours of timetabled classes spread over two days at the Arden campus of your choice. In addition to our usual eight hours of face-to-face teaching per week, as a CertHE student, you’ll also have an extra two hours of online support for academic knowledge and study skills development as well as one and a half additional hours of English Language for those who require it. This is combined with around 20 hours of independent study, which takes place through ilearn, our university campus in the cloud. ilearn contains all the resources you need to study successfully. You’ll also have access to our online library, removing the need to buy expensive course books in order to study successfully, as well as to the excellent student support services which are available to all Arden students.

Blended learning is the best option for students who prefer the structure of regular face-to-face classes with their tutor and fellow classmates and is particularly suited to students who live within commuting or driving distance of one of our UK campuses.

If you're a student from England who is enrolling on a full-time blended learning course with Arden (based in one of our UK campuses), you can apply for a Maintenance Loan for living costs to help pay for your living expenses. You can find more information on our fees and funding page. If you're a student from Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland you can find information on Maintenance Loan from your student finance body.
