Arden University’s CertHE Health and Care Management will give you a robust introduction to health and social care and the essential skills you need to get your career started in the sector.
Regularly updated to address the health and social care sector’s evolving needs, this course will provide you with a solid foundation for future study or work in the field. The CertHE is a recognised qualification in its own right and provides an entry route to degree-level study. This is a great option if you feel ready to study a degree course but don’t have the necessary qualifications usually required, such as GCSEs or A levels.
The CertHE Health and Care Management is the ideal choice for newcomers wanting to enter the field, current professionals looking to transition into their first management role, as well as developing managers seeking to build on their skills.
An innovative approach to health and care management is the only answer to the extensive changes the sector has experienced in the last years. This course has been developed in line with the ever-growing needs of the health and social care sector, highlighting the emerging skills required of today’s professionals and managers.
I chose online learning because I do not currently have the capacity to attend classes as my days are full with running my household, my elderly parents’ household and tending to the needs of my 3-year-old. Online studying has been extremely helpful because it provides the flexibility I need in order to study at random times during the day or night.
This is a 1-year course available through full-time blended learning, which gives you additional study support and is ideal if you’re still unsure about committing to a full 3-year degree course. Once you’ve completed your CertHE, you’ll be able to continue onto Level 5 (year two) of the CMI accredited BSc (Hons) Health and Care Management course if you wish to do so. You will receive the same excellent support provided to all Arden students including success coaches, academic skills tutors and workshops, our careers team, and much more. You will also receive an additional four hours of online academic knowledge and study skills sessions as part of your course.
If English is not your first language, we’ll also give you one and a half hours of weekly academic English support.
Unlike on more traditional programmes, you won't be sitting any exams on the CertHE Health and Care Management. Your assessments will instead link your course material to health, care, and management practice, providing you with key transferable workplace skills for your future role.
At Arden University we consider applications on a case by case basis. If you have significant work experience, have qualifications you have gained elsewhere, or a degree or qualification that isn't a clear pathway to this degree - we are more than happy to discuss your application.
Our aim is to make learning as accessible as possible by ensuring that you can study in a flexible and convenient way. That's why we keep our requirements simple. All you need is a laptop or desktop PC (we recommend one running the latest version of Windows), and a good internet connection. Through ilearn, our online university campus in the cloud, you'll be able to access your course calendar, support services, learning materials, and our online library containing thousands of ebooks, as well as tools for creating assignments, keeping notes, and collaborating with other students on your course.
We welcome anyone onto our CertHE course who can show us their determination to complete the qualification. You’ll just need to complete our one-week Introduction to Higher Education which mirrors the timetabled hours of your programme. Once you’ve passed this, you’ll be able to start on your CertHE.
We’ll give you all the support you need to succeed. Then, when you graduate from the CertHE course, you'll be able to progress on to the rest of the degree course if you decide it’s right for you.
