Arden University’s CertHE Law will introduce you to the fundamentals of law, serving as an entryway to an exciting choice of career possibilities in areas such as law, journalism, politics, and more.
Whether you’re looking to work in the legal sector, or still haven’t made a concrete decision about your future, this course will provide you with a valuable suite of skills that are applicable across a range of modern career paths. The CertHE is a recognised qualification in its own right and provides an entry route to degree-level study. This is a great option if you feel ready to study a degree course but don’t have the necessary qualifications usually required, such as GCSEs or A levels.
Just some of the skills you’ll learn include critical thinking, effective communication, presentation, and persuasion, effectively preparing you for future study or work in both the legal sector and beyond.
With this CertHE Law, you’ll gain expertise that’s focused on your future employability, with each of your modules being designed to provide you with transferable skills you can apply across a range of professions.
Arden is for winners. Nobody will beg you to sit down and start working on your career, if you don’t do it yourself! At Arden, if you have an honest interest for what you learn and you want to reach out for more, you will be welcomed, helped, and advised. But to do that, you must be determined.
This is a 1-year course available through full-time blended learning, which gives you additional study support and is ideal if you’re still unsure about committing to a full 3-year degree course. Once you’ve completed your CertHe, you’ll be able to continue onto Level 5 (year two) of the degree course if you wish to do so. To find out more about the Cert HE, click here.
You will receive the same excellent support provided to all Arden students including success coaches, academic skills tutors and workshops, our careers team, and much more. You will also receive an additional four hours of online academic knowledge and study skills sessions as part of your course.
If English is not your first language, we’ll also give you one and a half hours of weekly academic English support.
A variety of assessment methods will be used that support the development of your knowledge, application, and skills. Each module’s assessment contains two parts:
At Arden University we consider applications on a case by case basis. If you have significant work experience, have qualifications you have gained elsewhere, or a degree or qualification that isn't a clear pathway to this degree - we are more than happy to discuss your application.
We welcome anyone onto our CertHE course who can show us their determination to complete the qualification. You’ll just need to complete our one-week Introduction to Higher Education which mirrors the timetabled hours of your programme. Once you’ve passed this, you’ll be able to start on your CertHE.
We’ll give you all the support you need to succeed. Then, when you graduate from the CertHE course, you'll be able to progress on to the rest of the degree course if you decide it’s right for you.
