What our students say

Career Impact

How will a Business degree impact your career?

Because Business degree graduates develop a wide range of transferable skills, they have a variety of employment opportunities open to them. When you’ve completed the degree you will:

  • Have an in-depth understanding of business functions
  • Be able to demonstrate your ability to learn and solve problems
  • Be able to make decisions about where to target your career planning as a result of your module choices
  • Be an attractive proposition to many employers due to your transferable skills and CMI accreditation

It is your graduate status and your transferable skills that most employers will be interested in particularly analytical and critical thinking, problem solving, interpersonal and communication, and an appreciation of organisational behaviour and structures. These indicate strong potential for future development in multiple areas.

Here are just some the roles our students go in to:

Course details
  • Duration: 3 years (4 years with foundation year entry)
  • Study centres: London, Birmingham or Manchester
  • Study hours: 2 full days a week (3 days a week with foundation year entry)
  • Online materials: Includes tutorials, lessons, exercises, study support and chat forums

You will start the degree with an introduction to business best practice, before choosing the area of business you’d like to specialise in. Once decided, you will begin to understand the important role your specialism plays in a wider business environment.

FOUNDATION YEAR

Fees and funding

If you're looking for a smart, value for money option then look no further. With Arden you can stay in control of your finances, and focus on your learning.

Fee per year: £6,000

Undergraduate student loans for UK & EU students

Many UK & EU students choose to pay for study this way. Student Finance England pays your fees which you pay back in small monthly instalments, once you are earning over £21,000. You won’t be asked to pay anything back until April 4 years after the start of your qualification. More information can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/student-finance/overview.

How to apply for a student loan

While you are applying for your Arden University course, your admissions advisor will discuss payment options with you. If you decide a student loan is the best option, you can apply online via Student Finance England. This will take about 15 minutes and you should have your passport and National Insurance number to hand. It can take as long as six weeks for the Student Loans Company to finalise applications, so make sure you do it in plenty of time to start your course.Costs shouldn't stand between you and your chance to develop your career - this is the reason our programmes are more affordable than the average UK qualification.

What makes Arden different?

Arden's new, innovative blended learning approach is completely built around you, the student. Here's what makes us so different:

1. Condensed seminars giving you time to study and progress your career

Many universities spread their teaching across the week, making it difficult for students to fit in much else. Arden’s blended model enables you to complete a full 3 year degree, with just 2 days face to face commitment per week. Leaving you the rest of the week to progress your career or spend as you wish.

This means you can gain valuable workplace experience while applying your learning directly. The best way to truly learn anything.

This could put you 3 years or more ahead of your peers at traditional university – a massive advantage in what is becoming an increasingly competitive graduate market.

2. Arden’s learning is active, not passive.

We believe that sitting in lecture halls being talked at for hours is not the best way to absorb knowledge. Arden’s learning model is about interaction, discussion and application of knowledge, allowing you to fully understand the material in depth.

Outside of classes, Arden's cutting-edge online learning experience is designed to build your knowledge, so when you attend seminars, you can engage the material in depth.

Our goal is for you to not only graduate but to become an expert in your chosen subject.

3. You can potentially graduate debt-free

By condensing seminars and providing materials online we are able to offer tuition fees 30% lower than most traditional universities. Whether undergrad or postgrad you can still access student funding.

What truly sets us apart is that because you can earn while you learn, you can even graduate debt free - putting you ahead of many studying at traditional universities.

What our students say

At Arden, we are devoted to our students and committed to constantly improving our student experience. Many of our students work full-time and have a family or other commitments - but they need that degree, masters or MBA to fulfil their full potential and maximise their career.

Watch the short video [1:43] to hear Adam’s experience of studying his blended learning business degree at our Tower Hill campus.

If you’re not 100% comfortable with university level study choosing 4 year degree would be a smart choice. The first year is designed to give you the basics needed to successfully complete the rest of the degree as it focuses on essential study skills. You will build your confidence and become a capable, well equipped student who is able to complete the full degree.

The four year degree is perfect for you if:

  • It’s been a while since you studied
  • You don’t feel you did well in previous academic study
  • You want to improve your time management skills
  • You’re not confident in writing assignments and would like some support
  • You want to learn research skill that can support your studies and assignments
  • You want some extra knowledge of the degree subject before beginning the course.

This foundation year is part of the full degree. If you are funding your degree by Tuition Fee Loan from the UK Government, your tuition fee for the foundation year will also be covered in this loan.

Arden's Manchester Study Centre
