It's simple really. There are no lectures to attend on-site anywhere, no fixed timetable and your study portal is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The qualification you gain at the end of your course is the same as any other UK university course.

We provide you with all the online study materials you need, including access to a team of expert tutors and plenty of support, to help you with your Online Learning degree course, Master's or other qualification.

The only difference between a qualification from Arden and a more traditional on-site university is the flexible way we deliver the course. We offer:

  • An innovative virtual classroom, ilearn, available 24/7.
  • Access to multi-media learning materials* via ilearn, developed by our Arden University subject specialists.
  • Accessible learning from any device - you can learn from your computer, laptop, tablet or phone.
  • The flexibility to study from any place in the world, at a time that suits you, as long as you can access the internet.

You'll get support from us from the moment you apply, with our friendly Arden Admissions Team on hand to answer any questions you have about your chosen course.

How flexible is online learning?

As well as being able to study anytime, anywhere, you can also adapt the number of modules you study during each study period. As you progress through your course at Arden University the choice is in your hands, so you can adapt the quantity of modules you study based on how busy you are. For all our modules of study, you can take an assessment period off as long as you complete the minimum modules per year which are as follows:

Undergraduate self-funding

Each level of undergraduate study carries 120 credits. You can choose to study 40 credits (two modules) per three-month assessment period which means you could complete a year of study in as little as nine months and your complete degree within 27 months.

On the reverse, if you want to reduce the intensity of study, you only need to study 40 credits (two modules), over three or six months, per year.

Undergraduate Student Loan Company funded

Each level of undergraduate study carries 120 credits. You can choose to study 40 credits (two modules) per three-month assessment period which means you could complete a year of study in as little as nine months. Student Loans Company requires a full year for each level, meaning you could have a completely clear assessment period (three months) per year while still being able to complete your degree in three years.

On the reverse, if you want to reduce the intensity of study, you only need to study 40 credits (two modules), over three or six months, per year.

Postgraduate self-funding

A postgraduate degree is 180 credits in total, six 20 credit modules and a project of 60 credits. You can choose to study 40 credits (two modules) per three-month assessment period, plus your research project or dissertation (60 credits) for three months minimum, meaning you could complete a part time master’s degree in as little as a year.

On the reverse, if you want to reduce the intensity of study, you only need to study 40 credits (two modules), over three or six months, per year. This means you can spread your postgraduate studies to 39 months if needed.

Postgraduate Student Loan Company funded

A postgraduate degree is 180 credits in total. You can choose to study 20 credits (one module) per three-month assessment period, plus your research project or dissertation (60 credits) for three months minimum, meaning you could complete a part time master’s degree in as little as 21 months.
On the reverse, if you want to reduce the intensity of study, you can spread your postgraduate study to two years.

If a Student Loan Company (SLC) student would like to complete their postgraduate degree within one year they could do by self-funding upfront and recouping the money via SLC over two years.
